Job Description

Position: Service Desk Technician
•Salary: £23,000 - £24,000 per annum + discretionary bonus of £500 per quarter + possible team Christmas bonus
•Location: Welwyn Garden City, Herts
•Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
•37.5hr week Monday-Friday

Our Client:

Our client is one of the UK’s leading companies within their specialized sector and this is an excellent opportunity for a Service Desk Technician to join their team in Hertfordshire.

The right candidate will join a close-knit team providing support to their customers to ensure that their business are always operational.

In this role, no day is ever the same. Our client has a wide variety of tasks that will require your eye for detail and determination to resolve complex issues.

We are looking for the right person who wants to shape and develop their role and the way we process data within our clients growing business.

Although telephony and IT experience are desirable, don’t be put off as we will teach you all the skills you need to know.

Skills Required

•A professional telephone manner
•Exceptional Customer Service skills
•Attention to detail, do you get a thrill finding the needle in the haystack?
•Determination to hunt and gather information and chase third parties to complete a task
•A solid grounding of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
•Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and deliver to deadline


Provisioning new orders and maintaining existing customers, managing multiple orders, creating and programming phone system schedules.
Logging all queries presented ensuring detailed and accurate in our CRM database.
Diagnosing and taking ownership of faults.
Providing progress updates to key stake holders at project milestones.
Providing out of hours support on a rotational basis.
Occasional site visits to assist with installations and diagnosing faults.
Raising ad-hoc invoices for department purchases working closely with our finance team.
Working with third party suppliers to understand current estate and contractual status, managing and completing caseation of redundant services.
Analysis on current consumption against our recommended rates.
Creating contracts and comparing invoices are correct to completed contracts
Providing telephone and email support to customers.
